We meet on Mondays from 6:30-9:30 PM. Tournament play starts promptly at 7PM. We also run occasional weekend events; see the Events tab for details.
Unless otherwise specified, meetings and events occur at the Reading Room of Stevenson University, located in Garrison Hall South, Second Floor, 10945 Boulevard Circle, Owings Mills MD 21117.

No. We have boards, set, clocks, and scoresheets available for all players.

Yes. For children unable to provide their own transportation, we ask that a parent or guardian remains on premise.

Yes. Players of all levels are welcome, and there are often - but we cannot guarantee - members available to play games or offer instruction to new players. We do not currently offer a formal lesson program.

No. OMCC doesn’t require a membership. The only charge is the entry fee required for rated tournament events.

No. Casual play doesn’t require a membership. However, rated tournaments require an active membership with the US Chess Federation.

The Reading Room at Stevenson University is a quiet space shared with students. Speaking should be kept to a minimum, and always in low or hushed voices. No eating is permitted in the room, and beverages must be in closed containers.

We offer US Chess-rated Blitz, Quick, Regular (Classical) events as well as unrated F960, bughouse and simul events.
We are proud to be the organizer of the Maryland Chess Club League, and we also run weekend events a few times per year.
